As Rector of the University of Cordoba, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to our III International and Multidisciplinary Congress on Researchers in Training, focused on the 20-30 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The University of Cordoba remains firmly committed to sustainable development and the achievement of the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda in its university strategies and policies. The list of pending tasks in this regard has led to the activation of a number of springs and efforts aimed at reducing poverty and social inequalities, improving education and tackling climate change, a global effort to which the University can undoubtedly make a significant contribution.
As in the previous edition of this Congress, we intend to generate opportunities to show from an interdisciplinary perspective, experiences in the dissemination, research, awareness and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainable development requires concerted efforts to build an inclusive, sustainable and resilient future.
We welcome the growing number of professors from Latin American universities who choose the University of Cordoba for their doctoral studies. This shows the willingness of our University to welcome and actively participate in the research training of Latin American faculty, many of whose research achievements will be valuable contributions to the sustainable development of our countries.
We thank once again the participation of those Ecuadorian universities and their authorities, who have facilitated the holding of this III Congress of researchers in training, which, due to mobility restrictions for health reasons, will take place virtually.
Finally, I would like to thank the more than 25 members of the scientific team and organizers of the event, without whose efforts the organization of this Congress would not have been possible, as well as the lecturers and academics from all the participating countries.
Thank you very much.
José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, H.E. Rector of the University of Cordoba.

The International and Multidisciplinary Congress of Researchers in Training takes advantage of the potential of interaction and knowledge interaction and the exchange of knowledge in different scientific areas. To this end, has a plural and innovative program, with a broad technical and educational content, accompanied by practical practical experiences from different disciplines. With a format that includes multiple activities such as plenary lectures and such as plenary lectures and training workshops.
In search of transversality, CIMIF 2021 will be a meeting point for the development of science in which the following research topics will be approached:
The Organizing Committee of the Congress confirms the following Plenary Lectures by different experts and researchers.
The program and participants of this session are still to be confirmed
Workshops have been designed with a practical methodology and linked to different aspects of scientific content. The workshops have a duration of six hours.
Bibliographic search is essential in all the steps involved in a research process, such as the searching of a particular topic, the methodological design, and the writing of scientific papers. The objective of this workshop is to show how to make a suitable bibliographic search, which ultimately will allow publish high quality papers. The students will learn how to use the main websites and databases, and how to manage the references using Mendeley software.
Universities and research centers are fully aware of the social and environmental impacts of research. It should be noted that, quite often, there are strong links between academia, industry, the military, and politics. Also, accountability for the proper use of funds is always a requirement. Therefore, research institutions must commit to high standards of integrity. On the other hand, academic careers often undergo stress and endure unstable working conditions, but breaches of research integrity could involve serious and longstanding reputational losses for researchers, both experienced and novice. In sum, scientists and research institutions should know and keep management systems of research integrity. Using real cases and examples, this workshop deals with the main topics of responsible research and publication.
At the end of this workshop, students will be able to:
Basis and implementation of research ethics
Good practices in research
Good policy practices in the publication system
